ceremony & breathwork
Cacao Ceremony
We begin the journey by drinking some ceremonial cacao together, setting intentions and connecting with the beautiful & delicious plant medicine.
Cacao has been used in ceremony for thousands of years by Indigenous cultures to support spiritual connection. It is a beautiful heart-opening medicine, releasing emotional blockages and aiding emotional healing.
You will be guided into a gentle breathwork and somatic meditation exercise to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting a deep sense of grounding and calm.
gentle movement practice
Restorative Movement & Sound Healing
Whilst being bathed in the soothing sounds of the Handpan, will settle into a series of deep, releasing yin postures, allowing the body to soften, the mind to quieten & our spirit to fully surrender into deep rest.
Yin yoga is a deeply meditative practice that invites us to delve deep into our inner world. This grounding session explores stillness and motion, stimulating energy flow & restoring the nervous system, allowing tension to ease and stress to melt away. No previous yoga experience or flexibility needed.
You’re welcome to gently move, stretch and explore the practices at your own pace, or simply get comfortable, lie back and receive the sounds.
meditation & reflection
Guided Meditation
You will be guided into a relaxing somatic meditation, connecting with breath and body.
Here you are invited to explore your inner world, processing any emotions, visions or insights that came up for you during the workshop. This is a opportunity for deep relaxation, release and rejuvenation.
You are welcome to bring your journal to record your insights and reflections.

The Facilitators
Hey, we're Krissi & Drew!
We create welcoming, inclusive spaces for people to slow down, soften, reconnect with themselves and find moments of stillness, connection and deep rest.
Our work is rooted in embodiment, intentional breath, movement, sound healing and ceremony, supporting people to come out of the busyness of everyday life and reconnect with the wisdom of the body.
Rooted in yoga and inspired by Eastern philosophies, spiritual practices and Indigenous wisdom, our work is shaped by the profound impact these traditions have had on our own healing journeys. We bring these influences into the spaces we create, inviting deeper presence, self-connection and exploration of our inner landscape.
We’re passionate about creating spaces that feel nourishing, inclusive and safe - places where you can rest, release, reconnect and simply be. Grounded in embodiment, presence and a connection to the natural rhythms of Earth, our offerings are an invitation to come home to yourself.

FAQ's
Do I need any previous yoga or meditation experience?
Not at all. The experience is suitable for beginners and all levels. No previous yoga or meditation experience is needed - simply come as you are.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative practice where gentle, floor-based postures are held for longer periods. It invites the body to soften, releases tension and creates space for stillness and deep rest.
What if I’m not flexible?
That’s absolutely fine! You don’t need to be flexible or have any previous yoga experience. We’ll offer options and encourage you to listen to your body, use props and move at your own pace. There’s no right or wrong way to do the practice.
Can I just lie down and receive the sound healing without taking part in the yoga section?
Absolutely. There’s no pressure to participate in every part. You’re welcome to rest, lie down and simply receive the sounds whenever that feels right for you. You don't need to take part in any yin yoga poses if you don't want to.
What can I expect from the sound journey?
Drew will play live handpan throughout the Yin practice, creating a soothing soundscape to support relaxation and rest. We'll also incorporate gentle breathwork and a closing somatic meditation.
What is ceremonial cacao?
Ceremonial cacao is a rich, minimally processed form of cacao traditionally used in ceremonial settings. We'll begin the experience by sharing cacao together as a grounding ritual before moving into the yoga and sound journey.
Do I have to drink the cacao?
No. Taking part in the cacao is completely optional. You are welcome to join the ceremony without drinking it.
Is cacao suitable for everyone?
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or have any medical conditions or concerns, please get in touch before booking. We'll provide the ingredients and relevant information so you can make an informed choice.
What should I bring?
There are yoga mats provided but if you would like to bring your own / extra cushioning please do so. You are welcome to bring a blanket and a cushion for added cosiness. Please bring extra layers - you'll be lying still for periods of time, so keeping warm and cosy is important.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, loose clothing that allows you to move and settle comfortably. Warm layers are recommended for the longer periods of stillness.
Can I come if I'm not very flexible?
Absolutely. Yin isn't about being flexible or achieving a particular shape. Every posture can be adapted to suit your body, and you're encouraged to listen to your own needs throughout the practice.
What if I need to leave or take a break?
That's completely okay. You're welcome to change position, rest, come out of a posture or take a break whenever you need to. This is your experience.
Where is the event held?
The Yin Yoga Sound Journey takes place at The Sound School, Old Print Works, Birmingham.
